I really like Nobes and hope he’s good enough to do more work for the club but the overthetopery of it all makes me cringe. Thanks for the effort Mark but time to move on or prove yourself in a new job.

I am utterly unashamed to say I welled up, when he delivered the killer line at the end; not so much the great simple words, but the delivery. Reading it in the paper doesn’t do it justice, because it doesn’t include the delivery, the emotional pause a top Hollywood talent would have been proud of, but Mark’s no actor, so it was 100% genuine.
The line, with the pause written in, was:
'I hope that in the last 18 years………I have done you proud,'
Ooooofff! That got me.
Eternal love and respect for Mark Noble, for my part.

As much as I respect and admire Sir Trev ( he visited my terminally ill Son-in- Law towards the end of battle with a brain tumour (called Brian). I would say for me I would say fucking hell Bobby Moore didn' get a send off like that!
It is a generational thing. My 12 year old Grandson ( son of the my Son-in-Law) was at Yesterdays game and for him his enduring memory is seeing "Captain" Mark Noble in his under pants in the changing room before the Man Utd game two seasons back ( Grandson was a mascot that day)
As I say each generation have their own heroes and they are not compatible.
I was happy for Noble yesterday my Grandson was happier

Many people will only remember the last few years where his influence on the pitch was less. This guy was still a huge influence off it and a big part of building a team spirit.
I remember him doing all the running for Kevin Nolan in his final seasons. No wonder it burned him out.
Many managers struggled to find his perfect position. He was a good all rounder without being a stand out holding mid, box to box or attacking midfielder. He could see a pass, he could hit a pass and he could hit a ball at goal. He was largely reliable and sensible with a tenacious streak that often saw him get a card. He would put the team first, do whatever needed to be done and just support those around him that were better.
I honestly think you dont realise what you have got until he has gone. His influence, his guidance to new players to settle in and understand West Ham, his attitude and support of the young players. Massive to the position the club finds itself in now.
Yes he is getting loads of plaudits and he isnt and hasnt been the worlds best player or even the best player on the team but he has always shown heart, passion and effort for the badge. Good luck to him, he has earnt a break. I hope he finds a new role in or out of football that he can enjoy and be just as successfull in

My son wasn't even born when Noble made his West Ham debut.
My son is now 6ft 4in and driving a car. He has not known a West Ham without Mark Noble.
That time has flown by.

Personally I worry about the loss of him in the dressing room more than on the pitch. Everyone he has played with and has spoken about him no one has said anything bad about him.
Players such as Rice will see his retirement as a big loss I reckon. I just hope the board have the foresight to give him a coaching role or behind the scenes role. Anything that will keep him busy and in touch with the playing squad because as I said, don't under estimate his influence. He had limitations as a player and even Noble himself would point them out, but as club captain he has to be up there with the very very best.

how will we cope without the floaty free-kicks and corners?
who will stand 2 yards off the centre back and demand the ball??
i'm only half kidding but he's forged an excellent career being good but just not quite good enough.
however, his more recent influence in the dressing room has been a very positive thing and maybe coaching is the right path for him.

Sir Trev summed it up pretty well yesterday, to get to 500+ appearances with the influx over seas players in modern times is quite unique and special - and wont happen to often.
Modern day hammers hero. Mr West Ham is fitting. Hope he stays in some meaningful role at the club, maybe perhaps taking over from Moyes once we've won the Europa / Champs Leage ;)

Mark Noble is for the younger generation, he’s their hero.
Fucking hell some people really look for anything to be anti West Ham.

Respect to Noble, but this big protracted send off all seemed a bit ott to me. The real Mr West Ham Trevor Brooking didn't get a send off like that.
Good luck to him but pleased he's gone, time to move on from him.

A fantastic send of for Nobes, nice touch when he said he'd got lots of friends with him today, 60,000 of us! Top man, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who got a pieve of grit in their eye when he said that, hope we keep him at the club as part of Moyes brilliant team
